Event summary: ‘How to stay in Australia after you graduate? Career and Visa Options’

Blended Learning International first Career Information Session went off with tremendous success – with an evening filled with informative discussions and lively engagement with students. The session was held last Tuesday 22 September 2015 at ANU Manning Clarke Centre.

Discussing the topics of post-study visa options for international students, the session which was co-hosted with the ANU Indonesian Student Association (ANU ISA) highlighted the various options and application processes that international students can choose after their student visa expires.

Our board, Glenn Withers along with Gracia Santoso from the ANU ISA opened the session and was then followed by Migration Agent and Secretary of the ACT chapter of the Migration Institute of Australia – John Hourigan, presenting information on point based skilled visa options and employer sponsored visas. Following that, Julianne O’Brien from the Migration and Information Services, Economic Development Directorate of the ACT Government discussed the pathways through ACT nominated visa’s through the 190 subclass and the RSMS stream.

After each informative presentations, the speakers were divided into each allocated Q&A station which allowed the audience a chance to ask questions directly and engage with the speakers.

Reception with pizza and drinks were provided at the end of the event, with closing remarks by our CEO Lisa Materano.

Congratulations to ANU on being ranked amongst the top 20 universities worldwide

The Australian National University has been recently ranked to be amongst the world’s top 20 universities.

The latest QS World University Rankings for 2015-16 has ranked ANU 19th in the world, which is up from it’s ranking of 25th last year. This places ANU to be amongst the world’s greatest education institutions such as Oxford, Cambridge, and Ivy League universities in the United States.

ANU was also rated as the number one institution in Australia. The QS World University Ranking has based this decision on a range of measures such as academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations and the ratio of staff to students.

Blended Learning International would like to congratulate ANU for this tremendous achievement.

 

 

ANU College of Business and Economics Prizes & Scholarships Ceremony

This year, ANU The ANU College of Business and Economics held their annual Prizes and Scholarships Ceremony event on Friday 14 August 2015. This event is a platform to recognise the academic achievements of students in the College and congratulates their hard work and commitment.

This year, Matthew Sheppard is the recepient of the Blended Learning International Prize for Global Marketing. The prize is awarded each year to students who in that year was enrolled in a program leading to the award of a degree of Master in the ANU College of Business and Economics; and achieved the best result as shown by the award of the highest mark in the nominated course Global Marketing (MKTG7035).
