English Requirements

Exam Studies

International students enrolling at Blended Learning International must have a minimum English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or above.

For pathway students to RMIT, English preparation may be completed through RMIT English Worldwide (REW) if required. RMIT conducts placement testing, and additional ELICOS weeks may be recommended.

For entry requirements for a particular course, please visit the respective course pages for more details, or email (info@blendedlearning.edu.au) to inquire more.

Language, Literacy, and Numeracy Test

Blended Learning International conducts a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy review as part of the pre-enrolment suitability process.

Applicants must either:
   •    Complete the BLI Language, Literacy, and Numeracy review; or
   •    Provide recognised English language evidence.

English Language Benchmarks

Recommended benchmark levels are:

  • Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership

    • Overall IELTS Academic 6.5, with no individual band below 6.0 (or equivalent)

  • Diploma of Business

    • Overall IELTS Academic 6.0, with no individual band below 5.5 (or equivalent)

Equivalent English language tests may be accepted where appropriate.

Meeting these benchmarks supports academic readiness but does not automatically guarantee enrolment.

International Students

  • BLI programs are delivered online or hybrid globally.

  • Students intending to pathway to an Australian university should note:

  • Universities determine their own English language entry requirements.

  • Most Australian universities require an overall IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent; however, requirements vary by institution and program.

  • Meeting BLI’s language requirements does not guarantee university admission.

  • BLI does not issue Confirmations of Enrolment or sponsor student visas.

All language assessments are conducted fairly and form part of the overall suitability determination prior to enrolment.
