UniSA was founded on 1 January 1991 through the amalgamation of the South Australian Institute of Technology and the Magill, Salisbury and Underdale campuses of the South Australian College of Advanced Education. Since then, it has quickly earned a reputation as a national leader in collaborative research, has been recognised nationally for innovation in teaching and has South Australia’s largest intake of international students.

• In the 2015 QS World University Rankings, UniSA is in the top 300 ranked at 288 up from 333 in 2014. UniSA is one of only two Australian institutions aged under 25 to feature in the top 300 of the QS rankings in 2015.

南澳大学(University of South Australia，简称UniSA) 是澳大利亚五所主要的理工大学之一，建立于1991年，位于阿德莱德市。其前身是成立于1889年的南澳理工学院和成立于1856年的南澳高等教育学院的三个校区合并而成。本校已有100多年历史，提供高水平的专科以上教育。南澳大学提供广泛的课程，颁发博士、硕士、硕士文凭及毕业证书、学士学位及文凭、专科文凭及证书。其工商管理硕士（MBA）课程，被评为5星级，护理专业世界闻名，商科、建筑、工程、药学也是深受好评专业。在2016年QS世界大学专业排名中，南澳大学护理专业排名第50. 而南澳大学护理专业的学生可以在毕业后申请成为南澳大利亚的注册护士，该项职业资格在澳大利亚，英联邦国家，乃至美国的某些州均被认可。
